How long have you been married?

We met at UT Martin in 1980 and married Mar.17,1984 (22 years).

Children and ages:

Ryan is 17 and Meagan will be 15 in a few weeks and we have an 8 year old Scottish Terrier named Pepper.

What is your profession? 

Jeff has been a field engineer for Johnson
& Johnson for 17 years. He services blood
chemistry analyzers in area hospitals.

Deb is a semi-retired Medical Technologist
but is currently a part-time instructor at
Jackson State Community College teaching
medical terminology.

How long have you lived in Jackson?

We moved to Jackson from Memphis in 1996 (10 years) because of a job transfer.

How long have you been a Christian?

Jeff was saved at a Young Life camp in Windy Gap, NC at the age of 17.
Deb was saved during a revival at her home church at the age of 8.

Where is your favorite place to eat?

Favorite place to eat is Olive Garden and a close second is Asahi.

What is your favorite movie?

Jeff’s favorite movie is any Clint Eastwood movie where he carries a gun.
Deb’s favorite movie is Gone with the Wind  and it is also her favorite book.

Where is your favorite place to go on vacation?

Our best vacation was when Jeff and I went to a Sandals Resort in the Bahamas. We also enjoy camping as a family.

What was your first “real” job?

After completing college Jeff worked at the Parthenon Pavilion Hospital in Nashville as an orderly for mental health patients.

After college, Deb worked as a research medical technologist (in a neonatal unit stat lab) at the Newborn Center located in the Med in Memphis, TN.

If you could do anything in the world without worrying about having enough money, education, or experience, what would you like to do?

Jeff would like to be a geologist, an archeologist or a Nascar driver.

Deb would like to own a shelter for stray and abused animals or be a dog handler that searches for drugs or lost people or train service dogs.

Where were you born?

Jeff was born and raised in Nashville, TN and Deb was born in Memphis, TN and raised in the small town of Friendship, TN.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Jeff doesn’t remember any specific thing that he wanted to do.
Deb wanted to be a veterinarian.

Other interesting facts about yourself/your family?

Interesting facts:

• Jeff’s great, great, grandfather was a lieutenant in the 25th Alabama Infantry Regiment in the Civil War.
• Lily Tomlin is Jeff’s 3rd cousin.
• Jeff’s dad was a tank driver in the Korean War.
• Jeff’s high school baseball team won the state championship in 1977.
• Meagan’s middle school basketball team won the state championship 2 years in row (2004 &2005).

Who was one of your childhood idols?

Jeff’s childhood idol was Bob Gibson. He was a pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals.

Deb’s childhood idol was Donny and Marie Osmond.

Hobbies:

Jeff’s hobbies are genealogy, stamp & coin collecting and Nascar racing.
Deb’s hobbies are reading, scrapbooking, and crossword puzzles.
